300 Mile Per Gallon Car is Safe and Affordable

This amazing, fun and peppy vehicle will travel 120 miles on one charge or the hybrid model will take you up to 300 miles on one tank of gas! It will reach speeds of up to 90 mph in plenty of comfort along with 360 degree visibility. The cost is an affordable $29,000. The Aptera has solar panels in the roof to augment climate control. Based on wheel layout and weight it will be registered as a motorcycle (further saving money) with all the impact safety of a car as this vehicle has been designed to exceed all current automobile safety standards. For example the engine has been designed fold up and move under the car upon impact. Reinforcement at hip level exists for side impacts.

Inside, there is a touch screen panel for navigation and music. Ergonomics feature highly in the layout of this car.

I’m into hybrid cars and alternative fuels as much as any other guy, but this does not look any kind of safe to me.
Has this vehicle passed any of the crash and safety tests that are common with regular cars?

It exceeds the current safety standards according to what I’ve seen and read so I presume they had to do those tests in order to make those claims.

I read about this briefly in Wired…smart idea and well done.

DO YOU HAVE ONE?

I’m assuming that one tank of gas equals 1 gallon. As you can get 300 miles from a tank of gas in most cars which wouldn’t make this one very economical.

One tank is one gallon which gets the car approximately 300 miles

I’m glad to see more companies attempting to offer hybrid and electric vehicles, but why do they have to be so strange looking?
Hopefully, the Tesla Roadster will set the stage for electric cars that you wouldn’t point and laugh at.

They look “strange” since that is the shape that is required for the best aerodynamics. Consider a bicycle helmet. This design reminds me of an airplane… wheel fairings and all!

Oh wow, you mentioned this in February?! I was thinking this was new and I was on top of things. Oh well, missed again, lol.
I like your photo of the interior. I do love this car, but shudder to think of how it would fare with our NYS winters. Still, I’d get one, for summers only!
Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting.

While Aptera claims that this vehicle is safe, I have my doubts. Now, if only they could build a model with retractable wings… the Aptera body style just doesn’t look like it belongs on the ground.

Originally, they had announced at TED that is would get 330 MPG, but regardless, this feat has gone largely unnoticed. Google has even invested a couple million into this project, but not sure how that will get me better search results.

I love the idea of having hybrid or solar-powered vehicles but I don’t love the looks of the vehicle. I hope car companies who make hybrid vehicles will not make the vehicles look so strange. Although, the interiors look so comfortable. Maybe someday if most cars will look like the one in the photo, we will get used to it.

It sounds like you’re creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their is a problem in the first place
