Solar Power From Outer Space
Solar power is fast becoming a viable option for many people when it comes to powering a home off the grid. One of the problems of course with solar is the lack of constant sun at times and in some locations there is very little sun all year round. The Space Island Group, hopes to overcome this problem by putting it’s collecting devices in outer space. The group envisions giant orbiting power plants in space. Is this a feasible plan? If we can put men and robots on the moon and Mars, I say why not? It’s all a question of commitment. And if we don’t figure out ways to harness the renewable energy that already exists, soon we won’t have to, as we won’t be around to care.

Yes indeed the giant orbiting power plants in space can be a boon for mankind as solar energy and wind energy are possibly the best renewable sources of energy today which can curb global warming.

Sounds like a really great idea. like Parrot said in his comment, solar and wind energy are the key for our future energy needs. I can only hope that they come sooner than later.

I agree solar power has been a nice alternative for regular power and it does help us solve the problem of dying planet earth!!
the only problem being NOT everyone here knows about hot to utilize solar power…
