Blood Powered Touch Screen Skin Display

Under Skin Tattoo Display

Amazing as it sounds, it’s true. This electronic display gets it’s juice (pun intended) by using the glucose and oxygen in your blood and turning it into electricity. The bluetooth interface which is used to connect with your portable devices, is implanted beneath the skin and can be used as a tattoo, a computer or even a phone. The display is operated like a touchscreen. I kid you not, it’s a touch screen on your arm! You can even watch videos on your skin.

This gadget also doubles as a health monitor, keeping an eye on the condition of your blood supply.

So how does it work? Right above the implant is a tattoo made with “smart ink”. Below the tattoo is a matrix of pixels that produce an electric field. When you press the touch screen, you activate the matrix.

Now this is an amazing invention and a true indication of science at it’s best. Only a matter of time before more inventions that function off our bodily processes and energy start to hit the market. We’ve already seen electronic muscle stimulators and gadgets like that so it’s really fascinating to see that that the next line of gadgets actually interact with our bodily fluids and functions. Soon we’ll have retina screens that will send information directly to the brain.. the possibilities really are endless so it’s exciting to see products such as this one starting to hit the market.

This is indeed very cool. Imagine typing on your arm to send an email, or displaying some reading material from the web while on the train or bus. No hardware to carry.
