Discarded Waste Makes a Cool Wooden Rocking Chair

 Recycled Wooden Rocking Chair

Back in the day, the electric company used to allow us kids to take their wooden spools that they wrapped their wires around, when they no longer needed them. We would cut a hole in the middle, making a little cubby hole as the inside was hollow. We would then have a stackable fort. Now David Medding has designed a piece of furniture made from these wooden reels. By the looks of things the chair looks pretty comfortable; kind of like a variation on the Adirondack chair. The reclining positions can even be changed with the included rope stops and it’s a rocking chair. But at about $400 chair it’s a little too pricey for me.  It’s is however, a great use for an otherwise dicarded item, and is another fine example of recycling. Perhaps if these chairs became more main stream the price would go down?

Discarded Waste Makes a Cool Wooden Rocking Chair…

I am an avid supporter of recycling and eco-friendly products so this recycled wooden spool chair caught my eye. We used to play on these things as kids and make neat stackable forts. A furniture designer has taken what would ordinarily be resigned to …

$400? This guy needs to stay away from illegal forms of extra curricular activity. The chairs look really cool for someone who lives on the side of a mountain, but why would they pay that much when they probably have a nice set of perfectly good stumps to sit on. BTW, if anyone needs a stump, I sell them for $350… help you save a buck.

I think these look really cool, just wonder how comfortable they are. Normally, when I read a book, I look for a cushion, not a wooden slat!

Just like louisville we would also miss a cushion, but the idea and design is really great! Would make a good napping spot!
