Safe Alternative to Teflon Pans

In the past, teflon pots and pans have been given bad press and perhaps rightly so. It can’t be good to ingest teflon particles, which the EPA says has been linked to birth defects. So how about a pan that works just as well at repelling sticky food but isn’t toxic? Enter GreenPan a ceramic based set of pots and pans. The price is reasonable too at around $140. These can purchased on the Home Shopping Network.
GreenPan 7-piece Gourmet Cooking Set Includes:
- 10″ frypan - measures approx. 10-1/4″ in diameter x 2″H
- 8″ frypan - measures approx. 8″ in diameter x 1-3/4″H

- 3-quart covered casserole pan with helper handle- measures approx. 8″ in diameter x 4″H
- 11″ sauteuse pan with helper handle - measures approx. 11″ in diameter x 2-1/2″H

Do you know if there are any other alternatives to teflon that are safe? I was under the impression that some of the non stick ceramic pans are also not toxic?
