Bike of the Future

 polygon bike

Automobiles are usually the place where you see high tech body designs emerging. But not this time. This bike was a concept model designed by  Reindy Allendra for a lifestyle and bike design competition. Because music is a big part of the designers lifestyle, he seamlessly added this capability to his bike.

The wheel movement powers the music player which has a convenient docking station on the handlebars and an ear plug port is conveniently located below that. I’d love to see wireless earphones though.  The wheel movement also can power a tail and break light.

It’s a really clever, eye catching, futuristic bike design.

That’s a really cool looking bike. It’s loud looking, but not annoyingly so. Very European, I must say… Any idea of the cost?

  3. Tertius Says:

Self-powering bike for the ipod, I’m saying that’s pretty cool. But the bike is pretty ugly!

  4. klunz Says:

That could be my futurebike :-)
I’m doing the Camino French rute on bike in may 2009 and why not on a bike like this. I will indeed get a lot of attention, but also the possibility of hearing good music on my way. I’ll say : Go for this thing.

Very neat looking bike. Pictures looked real enough, is there an actual prototype or is it just a sketch so far?

I love that this bike has Ipod worked into it, what a great concept. And…it looks really cool.
    Thanks!

  7. Pays to Live green Says:

Wow, that definitely is a futuristic bike. I love the fact that it runs a mp3 player just off of the energy produced from peddling the bike. This bike could really launch the new development of bikes that work in a similar fashion, especially with our high gas prices.

I love the Ipod idea, but the model or the design for future bike is ugly. I think the bike for future should be light, thin, can be folded.

that is a seriously strange looking bike but i would imagine it performs great. would be interested to know how much it costs?

  10. Hidden Object Says:

    Nice.
    Another Invention of bike.
    It Looks cool.

  11. Katrin Amber Says:

And that is what i call futuristic design. Those pedals look very weak.

  12. Spy Pen Camcorder Says:

That is a seriously slick looking bike. This reminds me of the movie Wall-e where the girlbot Eve was designed after the look of an iPod - old school and white. I wouldn’t be surprised if this inspired after an iPod too due to the integration.

  13. Groepsreizen Says:

It looks OK allright, but would it be practical? What if I want to replace a tire? But on the upside: it’s great to see some radical innovations in bike design.

  14. Owen Says:

I wouldn’t mind riding around in one of those.

  15. PS3 Says:

Looks awesome. 2 Sleek and I’m betting its pretty light. It would be a awesome addition to a sports guy’s collection.

  16. Bike Carrier Direct Says:

You would think the bike of the future that powers your ipod would at the very least come with wireless headphones!

It’s like watching the Jetson’s and they are watching TV on a blueray player….

  17. Free Laptops Says:

It certainly looks very slick and futuristic, but in real terms, is it? Modern bikes come with full suspension for one thing - I can’t see how that would fit into this design.

    Top marks for design though!
