Solar Powered Pedal Boat
With boating season on the horizon I found this ecologically friendly boat very appropriate. It can be powered by us humans or by the sun. I think that’s a great combination of energy. It is no maintenance (every boat owner knows that no maintenance isn’t usually within the realm of possibility!), fits 4 people comfortably and has a fiberglass hull making it quite light. The 700 watt electric motor powers the boat when you are resting your tootsies and the 4 deep-cycle batteries are charged during the day by the sun. If it’s cloudy frequently you pedal more and get some invigorating exercise. It’s a win win situation for the environment and your health. Now I wouldn’t run out and buy one right away because it costs $10,500 at Hammacher Schlemmer! However this pedal boat is a lot more affordable!

That is one awesome boat. I hope these types of inventions continue to come out so they can become more mainstream.
